Overview

Vienna Region needed more than just a visual update — they needed a smarter way to communicate their strengths to an international audience. Through focused development, careful information architecture, and a seamless collaboration process, I helped turn a complex rebranding project into a modern, effective digital platform.

}

I was responsible for the development of the new Vienna Region website as part of a full rebranding project.
While the visual branding (logo, color palette, typography) was handled by our graphic designer, my role was to develop the website in line with the new brand identity and ensure it delivered a fresh, modern experience.

I was also deeply involved in:

  • Structuring complex content sections

  • Designing the information architecture for key pages

  • Implementing the frontend to match both the brand and UX goals

  • Collaborating closely with the team and client during feedback rounds

After exploring tons of productivity concepts like PARA from Marie Poulin and Tiago Forte, and reviewing creative workflows from Ali Abdaal, Keep Productive and Thomas Frank, the starting point for me was to flesh out a system of thinking for Notion that connects from the big to the small.

Key Features & Challenges

Rebranding Implementation

The main goal was to bring a fresh, modern energy to the Vienna Region brand online. This required careful attention to detail in typography, layout, spacing, and responsiveness to ensure that the visual refresh translated naturally into the digital environment.

Organizing Complex Content: "Why Vienna Region" & "Key Sectors"

Two of the most important and content-heavy pages were:

  • "Why Vienna Region" — explaining the region’s advantages for business, life, and growth

  • "Key Sectors" — highlighting strategic industries like tech, life sciences, and logistics

The challenge was turning large blocks of information into a clear, inviting structure without overwhelming the user.
This involved:

  • Breaking content into digestible sections

  • Visual storytelling using icons, highlight boxes, and structured layouts

  • Multiple workshops and feedback rounds with the client to refine messaging hierarchy and prioritize key information

Smooth UX Across Devices

Since the site needed to appeal to both local and international investors and businesses, it was critical to ensure perfect responsiveness, clean UI flows, and a professional yet friendly tone across all devices.

The relaunched Vienna Region website successfully presents the region’s opportunities with a fresh, confident, and professional presence:

  • Modern, scalable website aligned with the new brand identity

  • Streamlined, user-centered navigation that makes complex information easy to explore

  • Professional and inviting tone that strengthens the Vienna Region’s positioning among global investment locations

  • A collaborative design-development process that kept the client deeply involved and ensured strategic clarity in every section

The result is a platform that doesn't just inform — it persuades and invites businesses and investors to explore what Vienna Region has to offer.

What I Learned

{

}

This project taught me the value of structuring heavy content into approachable, meaningful user flows. I also gained deeper experience in developing rebranded sites, where design alignment, client communication, and content hierarchy must all work together to achieve both business and emotional goals.
